Deborah Goldgaber is Associate Professor in Philosophy, as well as Director of the LSU Ethics Institute, at Louisiana State University. She is author of numerous articles and a scholarly manuscript entitled Speculative Grammatology: Deconstructive and the New Materialism (Edinburgh, 2020), which explores the philosophical promises and limitations of the postwar research program, ‘generalized cybernetics.’ Her current research divides into three streams: 1) the significance of Derridean deconstruction (particularly grammatology) for issues in continental metaphysics and materialisms; 2) the various ways that feminist philosophy motivates us to rethink the distinction between nature/culture; and 3) the role of asceticism in critical theory.
