Teresa M. Vilarós is Professor of Global Languages and Cultures at Texas A&M. She has taught at Wisconsin-Madison and Duke. She has held a 6th-Century Chair of Modern Thought at the University of Aberdeen. She has published extensively on Spanish literature and film and on the Spanish political transition after Franco. She is the author of Galdós: Poética de la mujer e invención de la sexualidad. Her book El mono del desencanto: Una crítica cultural de la transición española (1998) came out in a second edition in 2018 (AKAL/Siglo XXI). She is co- founder of the Journal of Spanish Cultural Studies.
